The LIGHTMERIDIAN (3°7'45 ”E) stretches from the North Pole to the South Pole. On the other side of the globe there is only water.

The think tank “LIGHTMERIDIAN ORG” IS REGISTERED IN THE MUZE’UM L

On 2015 the meridian 3°7'45" Est of Greenwich started with the name LIGHT MERIDIAN "(the meridian of light) under the auspices of Joe Niemela, representative of UNESCO Year of Light.

The LIGHTMERIDIAN 3°7’45” E is one straight line dedicated to light and art across Europe with a lighthouse at its beginning and end.
All places (cities and towns) located on that meridian have the same hour, minute and second and are thus connected to each other on the same time.

THE LIGHTMERIDIAN IS A PROJECT TO MAKE THE MERIDIAN 3°7’45” E VISIBLE WITH LIGHT

The aim is to draw a shining line over Europe and Africa, where new ideas can be worked out. It must become a LIGHTMERIDIAN to make clear the new LIGHT that is emerging.
In collaboration with everyone, this will grow into a great lightning between the world's poles north and south.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE LIGHT MERIDIAN.
Help to make one straight light line. An example:

There are many art pieces, which have never been seen by the public / They rest in cellars, they all could be placed on (abandoned) church(es) or town hall or other venues on the cities and villages situated on this light line / Perhaps people will ask you to collaborate with you.

LIGHTMERIDIAN

The main solar design in the light museum architecture is a light line, called "The LIGHTMERIDIAN" and it becomes visible for a few minutes during the actual local solar noon, where the sun's rays fall completely vertically thanks to a correct cut in the architecture.

6. The LIGHTMERIDIAN enters into Africa at El Mohammedia (algiers) exactly at the grand museum of Africa next to the mouth of oued el harrach 3°7'45“ E / 36°44'31” N

to algeria was given the mandate of the african union (au) to house

The Great Museum of Africa / architect Nadir Tazdait
It will be a museum of mainly contemporary art and will have a garden of 14 hectares of representative plants from all parts of Africa / It will show kinetic views following the hours of the day.

look at:  le musée d'afrique à alger

7. The LIGHT MERIDIAN crosses further through the sahara, Algeria, Niger, Mali, Benin and Nigeria and leaves North Africa for the antarctic near Lagos with its university and its african museum of contemporary art.

8. The LIGHTMERIDIAN could connect new sites with in situ landmarks

it is a utopian idea to let this light meridian become a light line with artistic landmarks, on sites that are provided by landowners or municipalities // these art-in-situ works along the meridian would all have the same identity of time and light, however with the specific local color of their latitude // a map with exact GPS positions of the in-situ sites in europe and on the african continent will be available //

There are many art-pieces, which have never been seen by the public. they rest in cellars, they all could be placed in the churche(s) or town hall of the cities and villages situated on this art line.

go check the line yourself, your municipality may be on it:
once the site has been downloaded, remove the “distance markers” at the top
